This year April 24 commemoration was marked with unique activism in social media. Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute expresses its gratitude to all those users who have joined the call of the Museum-Institute by posting their family photos and stories related to the Armenian Genocide on their pages, sharing the frame with the slogan “I remember and demand,” and also those who have established direct contact with us.

Although in previous years, there were many heirs of Armenian Genocide victims and survivors sharing their family stories related to the Armenian Genocide, however, this year the phenomena was much more widespread due objective reasons.

It was reaffirmed once again that by time the memory of the Armenian Genocide is not only becoming stronger and more crystallized, but also becoming more meaningful for generations, in terms of remembering and fighting, as well as taking effective steps to demand justice today and in the future,

It was reaffirmed that even for those who did not have direct relatives who had died or survived the Armenian Genocide, it’s the same - the memory of the Armenian Genocide belongs to them, the demand for justice belongs to them, because there is a deep general national consciousness, there is a demand and there is a struggle...

It was reaffirmed that in addition to the historical, political, and legal studies of the Armenian Genocide, biographical related studies are also of a big importance. This was emphasized especially at the individual level, with the stories of the families provided by the people, offering a wide field to ethnographers, psychologists, sociologists and other professionals.

Each of us should be responsible for providing data about the victims and survivors of the Armenian Genocide, their testimonies and memories for the national database, it’s our responsibility to our martyrs and survivors, who are the martyrs of our families, are our ancestors, and their stories are integral parts of our life stories.
