The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation is also the main research hub on the Armenian Genocide. The researchers of the Museum-Institute are working on research topics related to different aspects of the Armenian Genocide, pre-genocidal era and aftermath of genocide. At the same time they are actively involved in the collection of relevant materials on the Armenian Genocide, organization of exhibitions, etc. The researchers also participate in the Educational Program developed by the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation, teaching school children and training history teachers.
Currently the research sector of the Museum-Institute has the following

Department of Study of Memoirs, Documents, and Press;
The Armenian Genocide Victims’ Documentation and Data Collection
Department;
Comparative Genocide Studies Department with a Project on “Research of mass murders of Armenians in the Transcaucasia region”;
Department of Organizing Museum Exhibitions;
Department of Museum Collections and Archives;
Educational Department;
The Museum-Institute is publishing two scholarly peer-reviewed journals –
Tseghaspanagitakan Handes (in Armenian) and
International Journal of Armenian Genocide Studies (in English).
It is also involved in the publication (also translation) of books, memories, photo collections, catalogues, etc.
The Museum-Institute is actively cooperating with similar research centers from Armenia and abroad, organizing scientific conferences, seminars, discussion, trainings, etc.
