On 11 May, the delegation headed by Gudrun Kugler, the head of the Austria-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group of Austrian National Council, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex. The delegation was accompanied by Viktor Yengibaryan, the head of the NA Armenia-Austria Friendship Group, and Harutyun Marutyan, the Director of “The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute” Foundation.
The guests put flowers at the eternal fire and honored the memory of the innocent martyrs with a minute of silence. Then Austrian parliamentarians had a visit to the museum, got acquainted with the exhibits and wrote a note in the Memory Book of honorable guests.
Emphasizing that Austria recognized the Armenian Genocide in 2015, Gudrun Kugler mentioned: “It is a tragedy that many countries in the world have not yet recognized the Armenian Genocide; we must fight for this recognition. Words cannot describe what happened to Armenian nation.”
