Sheikh Imran Hussain, a famous philosopher, preacher of Islam and universal values who lives in Belgium, recently visited the Armenian Genocide Museum and expressed his desire to plant a silver fir at Tsitsernakaberd ‘s summit.
Sheikh Imran Nazar Hosein is considered a unique commentator on the Quran who specialises in Islamic jurisprudence, world politics, economics, and contemporary socio-economic, political and international issues. He is the author of “Jerusalem in the Crimea” and other books.
He made a harsh speech during the 44-day war, condemning Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The AGMI directorate, responding to the Islamic teacher’s wishes, organised the tree planting ceremony. Today, July 16, Sheikh Imran Hosein planted a silver fir in memory of the Armenian Genocide martyrs in the area near Memory Park. He prayed for the repose of the souls of one and a half million innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide on Tsitsernakaberd’s summit. AGMI Director Harutyun Marutyan told the guest the story of the three khachkars placed in Tsitsernakaberd Park and nearby, dedicated to the memory of the Armenians who perished during the ethnic cleansing of the Armenian population within Azerbaijan at the end of the last century.
Sheikh Imran Hussain thanked AGMI Director Harutyun Marutyun for providing him with such an opportunity.
Sheikh Imran Hosein’s visit to Armenia was organised by Garnik Sargsyan, the president of the founding body of the Supreme Western Armenian National Council.
