RF Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov accompanied by RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex within the framework of his state visit to Armenia, 22-23 June.
RF Minister laid a wreath at the memorial of the Armenian Genocide victims then members of the delegation laid flowers at the eternal fire and honored the memory of the innocent victims with a minute of silence.
The director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan handed to RF Minister of Foreign Affairs golden replicas of the medals, which were issued in Petrograd with charity purposes to help the survivors of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The medal depicting the coat of arms of the Russian Empire with the two-headed eagle and the traditional Armenian cross carries an inscription which reads "From the Russians to the Armenians in the time of great peril."
Hayk Demoyan also presented Sergey Lavrov with his book “Turkey's foreign policy and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”.
