On 9-11 December 2018, the third Global Forum “Against the Crime of Genocide” was held in Yerevan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has published an illustrated volume summarizing the activities of the forum. An electronic version of the volume is now available, with the print version coming soon. The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute has also contributed to the volume. During the panel on “The Museums and Genocide; Perpetuating the Memory of the Genocide Victims and Facilitating the Prevention Process”
Harutyun Marutyan, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation delivered a speech titled “Museums and Genocide: Supporting Genocide Prevention through Perpetuation of Remembrance Days of Genocide Victims. A View from Yerevan".
Head of the AGMI Comparative Genocide Studies Department, PhD in History Suren Manukyan has participated in the forum as a moderator of the discussion on “The role of education and awareness raising in the prevention of the crime of genocide".
On December 11, after the end of the forum, the participants visited the Armenian Genocide Monument, laid flowers at the Eternal Fire and honored the memory of the innocent martyrs.
Meanwhile,
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, has sent a letter of appreciation to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation, in particular to Harutyun Marutyan, for the support in the organization of the Third Global Forum against the Crime of Genocide held in Yerevan on December 9-11, 2018.
