Today the press-release of Hayk Demoyan, the AGMI Director and the Secretary of the State Commission on Coordination of the Events Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and presentation of the books sponsored by ACBA Credit Agricole Bank took place at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
During the press-release Hayk Demoyan referred to the recent activities of the museum-institute, presenting in details the events which already were held, in particular the opening of the new exhibition of the museum on April 21 and the grand opening of the temporary exhibition in Paris Municipality on April 28 under the title
“Armenia 1915: Paris hosts the collection of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute of Yerevan”.
A number of events, such as book publications and temporary exhibitions organized with the support of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute were also presented. The museum-institute collaborates with local organizations and associations as well as individuals representing the Armenian Diaspora, as well.
The schedule of the upcoming events of the next few months was also presented.
Presentation of the French translation of four books sponsored by ACBA Credit Agricole Bank and published within the framework of collaboration between municipalities of Paris and Yerevan and the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute also took place.
In his speech Hayk Demoyan mentioned:
“This historical exhibition would not be possible to organize without the willingness of the Mayor of Paris Mrs. Anne Hidalogo, for whom I wish to express my deepest gratitude. I thank the Embassy of the RA in France, benefactor of the AGMI and my friend Jivan Cheloyants, ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank and all those who assisted in organizing this exhibition”.
The following books are presented at the book exhibition-sale in the Municipality of Paris: "Armenian Genocide: Front Page Coverage in the World Press" by Hayk Demoyan, “From Dardanelle to Palestine” by Sargis Tororsian, special project “100 Photographic Stories of the Armenian Genocide”, and “Ravished Armenia” by Aurora Martikanian.
In his speech Mr. Hakob Andryasyan, the Chief Executive Director of ACBA Credit Agricole Bank said: “We were not able to stand aside from the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and especially from the exhibition presented in Paris City Hall organized by the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute. The exhibition is unique both in terms of the place and gained sonority. I believe that within this exhibition so many people could know what really happened in the beginning of the 20th century. I would like to thank the whole staff of the museum-institute and Mr. Hayk Demoyan for such scientific activities”.
