The Autumn School will be held in hybrid form. Applicants can attend either in person or online. The language of the Autumn School is English.
The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute is proud to announce its’ inaugural international autumn school on the Armenian Genocide Studies for Ph.D. students and early career researchers. Under the title “Understanding the Armenian Genocide as a Reference Point” the three-day autumn school will provide an in-depth introduction to the Armenian Genocide. Within the framework of the school, AGMI and other specialists will try to elucidate the ideological background of the genocide, the political agenda of the ruling party, the methods of extermination, age and gender-based specifics of the genocidal acts, religious and legal aspects of the Genocide, legal impact that it left on the development of international law in general and on the UN Convention on Genocide in particular, etc.
Staff
The topics for the autumn school will be delivered by the researchers of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, as well as renowned scholars in the field of genocide studies.
Eligibility
The academy is open to all PhD students and young scholars. In some cases the applications of MA students (students in human rights and genocide studies) will also be considered. Those who wish to attend from outside Yerevan, Armenia are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
Cost
There is no fee for the Autumn school. The organizers will provide lunch and coffee breaks and some printed course materials.
Location
The autumn school will be held at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation. Some participants will be able to join the school online.
