On 16 February, at 14:00, presentation of eight books of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Foundation published in 2020, will take place at the AGMI Conference Hall.
Last year was unprecedented for AGMI in terms of publications. Eight books were published through the efforts of the staff, including AGMI researcher
Narek Poghosyan’s monograph “The Problem of the Armenian Genocide in Raphael Lemkin’s Studies,” collection of articles presented at the conference, funded by the Armenian Missionary Association of America in 2019,
“The Rescue of Armenians in the Middle East in 1915-1923: Proceedings of the International Conference,” edited by
Harutyun Marutyan and
Narine Margaryan.
In 2020, the series
“Memoirs of Survivors of the Armenian Genocide” was launched and it is planned to print unpublished memoirs kept at the AGMI Collections. The first four books of the series were published in 2020. Aurora Mardiganian’s memoir
“Ravished Armenia: The story of Aurora Mardiganian” was selected as the symbolic start of the series. The English and Armenian versions of the book were published with the support of the
“Aurora” Foundation, while the French version was funded by the leadership of
Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. Unlike the previous, the new editions have an extensive, professional preface (author
Lusine Abrahamyan) and about 100 notes (
Robert Tatoyan and
Lusine Abrahamyan).
In 2020, the 4th book of the series was also published, containing two unpublished memoirs, edited and annotated by the AGMI researchers
Robert Tatoyan and
Regina Galustyan, enriched with prefaces and appendices; “Aram Mantashyan,
Aram could not be Seyto” and
“Sokrat Mkrtchyan, Memoir”.
AGMI also published
Raymond Kevorkian’s illustrated book “The Armenian Genocide and Its Consequences,” as well as the fourth edition of
Ruben Adalyan’s book “Remembering and Understanding the Armenian Genocide”.
The first and second issues of Ts’eghaspanagitakan handes 2020, as well as the 2020 issue of International Journal of Armenian Genocide Studies were also published.
Sona Manukyan will take part in the presentation as a guest and will present her book
“When mankind is silent: Documentary novels”.
We look forward to seeing you.
